?Healthy chef is a profession that is still rare in Indonesia. Healthy chef does not only manage the physical and mental condition but also understand the needs of food and nutrition. Training is also required for someone to be healthy? he said. Edwin fell in love for the first time with culinary when he studied at Pelita Harapan School of Hospitality and Tourism back in 2000. He chose to study at UPH because of Christian values, high discipline, smoke-free campus, good facilities, and professional lecturers. He likes to study. ?Back in college, when my friends went clubbing, I prefered to read books at the campus library. I don?t know why. Maybe this is God’s way, so I can share something with others. If I had not did that, maybe I would have not achieved this? said him. He started his career when he was interning for the Ritz Carlton Bali Hotel. Graduated as one of the best graduates from UPH, he directly worked at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta. In 2006, he had to quit because he was selected as one of the top 10 of ?Be Our Cover Men?s Health? models competition. Since then, he is known as Celebrity Chef. |

In January 2009, Edwin pronounced himself as Healthy Chef who has triple roles; chef, nutritionist, and trainer, on the Healthy Life Program on Metro TV. Now, Edwin also opens a cooking class for public, under the name of Healthy Kingdom Community. In the near future, Edwin will publish a recipe book with a very unique concept containing his best recipes. Edwin also had a dream to establish his own school, Healthy Kingdom School, that can produce good chefs. In August 2011, Edwin will go to United States as he will represent the United State Department of Agriculture to attend training for a week. To UPH students, Edwin told us to study hard and pray to God. ?Our hard work and effort are useless, if it is not in the right time. So, just let it flow, study hard until the time is come and we are ready. Be Inspired & Be an Inspiration”, he added. (pty) |
