ITC Faculty Fellowship Welcomes New Students

The Student Orientation Program was held to introduce the vision and mission of the campus, as well as the activities offered in the campus and faculties of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH).

The Student Orientation Program was held to introduce the vision and mission of the campus, as well as the activities offered in the campus and faculties of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). This introduction session will be very helpful for the new students in adapting to the new environment in campus. On the 3rd day of the 24th UPH Festival, Friday, August 18, 2017, UPH held a Faculty Fellowship at each faculty. One of the faculties was the International Teachers College (ITC).

Faculty Fellowship at the International Teachers College (ITC) was full of enthusiasm.  ITC new students, which come from 18 countries, with the total of 44 new students, were welcomed by DR. Jeffrey Spanogle, one of the lecturers in ITC. In the beginning of his session, Jeffrey said that to graduate from ITC means that these students will have to bear their responsibility as teachers. In becoming a teacher, griefs, sorrow and joy will come and go, just like parents with their children.

?You?re about to face a new exciting challenge,? said Jeffrey.

In becoming teachers, we have to understand what we have to do now. Most importantly, we have to know about the truth. Jeffrey also reminded that our goal in life is to live in truth. But we also have to admit that throughout our life, we will have to face problems.

?But the problem is, desire conforms to the truth or truth conforms to desire,? Jeffrey added.

Thus, we need to do something right, and that is applying the gospel. We have to live within and proceed within the gospel, the word of God itself.

?Look at yourself. Have you realized what your desire is?? Jeffrey asked, as he ended the event.

Hopefully, through this Faculty Fellowship, ITC?s new students are able to understand their calling and their goal in life as they graduate and become teachers in the future, and before they will have to get into an even more complicated life, Jeffrey reminded them so they may come to understand about the true way of life, understand based on the gospel.
