As a form of UPH Visual Communication Design’s responsibility to the wider community, this time for the first time; DKV UPH held an exhibition of the final work titled “Gema” located at Plaza Indonesia, ex-Good Departments on the 5th floor. This certainly provides an outreach opportunity to the wider public, when compared to the previous exhibition which is just exhibited only at UPH.
Nelly, the chairman of this final project exhibition explains the theme of Gema itself is defined as the sound reflection from sound, for that DKV UPH hope the graduates of 2017 work not only for UPH for community and society.
“To expand the outreach, UPH aggressively publicizes both through socmed and conventional media. Plaza Indonesia also spread with its official socmed. Despite feeling tired, this event is very good for UPH and also for the public to understand what is the design and knowledge of our talkshow that fits our expectations, “explained Nelly.
Alfiansyah Zulkarnain, Head of Department of Visual Communication Design UPH also revealed that the exhibition in the wider range of its outreach so that the general public can enjoy it as well.
“Why should it be outside? Because a work cannot be enjoyed alone. In this context alone it is the UPH itself. When can exhibit outside who can enjoy more and more “, explains Alfi.
Furthermore, Alfian also hopes that the more people who come, the exposure will be widespread so hopefully will appear the criticism and also input. He also stated that this exhibition is useful to show the results of a work, there is the most important process.
“When this input will be a reflection of quality, the work of the actual student final assignment. Although we ourselves have self-criticism it will never be enough. When seen by other people the work actually talks, although in their respective capacities. Besides visuals, we also display the design process. A great book featuring the design process of each student works. That’s part of the appreciation level. Because the design process is not just designing the results but also at first searches the problem, search of the data, analysis the new data from all designed a visual that can answer the visual problems.
A total of 60 participants attended and displayed this final project exhibition, divided by three concentrations consisting of graphic design concentration of 36 people, animation concentration of 15 people, and cinematographic concentration of 10 people. ™ |
