On the second day of UPH Festival 22, UPH held a talk show entitled ?Inspiring Insight? by inviting UPH alumni and successful professionals as speakers, namely, John Riady ? Indonesian Lawyer, Professor, and Businessman, Kinsky Bunyamin, S. Sos ? Director of Marketing and Sales of Axioo Photography, dr. Vito Anggarino Damay, Sp.JP, M.Kes, FIHA ? MD, Cardiologist, Catherine Susantio, S.H, M.M, M.Kn ? Housewife and Mom.

In this session, the speakers shared their personal experiences and about how they can give impact to society. Andry Panjaitan, ST., MT as moderator opened the session with a question, ?What is success??. According to Kinsky, the definition of success varies from one person to another. Success changes as time and life stage change. Based on dr. Vito?s opinion, success happens when we are able to be the best version of ourselves. From Catherine?s point of view, success is fulfilling God?s calling.  God has a specific purpose for each of us. ?Each of you is unique. Never compare yourself to others,? she said. John shared that success is a journey. ?We have to think deeply of what will our calling be and be a blessing for others,? he said.

Many definitions of success are created in secular way. Alongside with global development, John shared his view about the situation now and then. ?We live in an exciting era. Many drastic changes happen due to digital revolution. And many opportunities are resulted from these changes that can be used for next 20-30 years. But, with all these changes, there are big moral movements. There is a grey area between right and wrong. This is a challenge where we have to strengthen our faith, logic, and moral,? John explained.

Then, the speakers shared their experiences in dealing with people nowadays that they encounter in work field and personal life. Kinsky, as a professional in wedding photography, shared about a phenomenon of ?wedding cancellation? in her clients. ?In the past, the number of couples that called off their weddings were only a few, but nowadays the numbers are increasing to be more than 10 couples. People in this era do not take and keep commitment seriously,? she concernedly said. Kinsky gave her advice to the new students in ?Grow Deeper? context to find their true identity, shape their character, and get closer to God, so that we can commit truly. On the other side, according to dr. Vito, many people take their selves for granted because of not knowing their life purpose, so that they heads nowhere. ?The concrete example is that lately many people suffer heart diseases because of their own deed, which is smoking. You reap what you sow,? he explained.

In the effort to ?Grow Deeper?, Catherine shared a glimpse of her experience during her time in UPH. ?In UPH, I participated on Youth Camp, where I found my calling to serve this campus. I became more active in student organizations. I was living my calling by maximizing the potential God has given to me. ?The process of Grow Deeper? is hard, but it bears a sweet fruit,? said Catherine.

Each of the speakers had their own impression of campus life. For John, campus life was great although he had to face many exams. Socializing and joining organization were memorable during campus life. ?Make a lot of friends and make a wide connection. But remember to make that connection with the right people,? John reminded the audience. dr. Vito also supported John?s opinion by quoting Bible phrase, ?Bad company corrupts good character. Campus life is an opportunity to shape our character. If we are responsible to little things, we can be given responsibility to big things. Campus life really shapes my character. I joined campus events and met great people. Time is a blessing.? According to Kinsky, she becomes successful because of her campus friends. ?I was not a good person back then. But my friends are very loyal in supporting me and teaching me to be a better person. It is true that our companies affect our character. UPH cares about students? spiritual needs,? she said. Catherine shared that UPH taught about holistic education in both theoretical and practical. UPH is a right campus, which produces a right community that becomes a blessing to others. The service of Catherine in campus bears a fruit and gives impact to her surroundings. If the speakers were given one chance to choose university again, they would still choose UPH.

Inspiring Insight was appreciated with big enthusiasm of the new students. The shared experiences are very inspirational. The connecting line from the message delivered is that for the students to use the study opportunity in UPH seriously, to develop their potentials that God has given, and to use that based on their passion and calling.
