Forkom Perpustakaan BK-PTKI Agreed to Deliver Maximum Service to the Members.

BP-PTKI on Friday, November 23, 2012 signed agreement with the leaders of Christian Universities under BK-PTKI on the empowerment and the utilization of library.

Coordination team of Indonesia’s Christian Universities (Badan Koordinasi-Perguruan Tinggi Kristen se-Indonesia/BP-PTKI) on Friday, November 23, 2012 signed agreement with the leaders of Christian Universities under BK-PTKI on the empowerment and the utilization of library. This agreement was the concrete action of Forkom Perpustakaan BK-PTKI in optimizing library function as one of the resources for students and lecturers and upgrading as well as nurturing the librarians’ professionalism in education, knowledge, and insights. Furthermore, the agreement could encourage the commitment of each university in developing the library and librarians.
The agreement would facilitate the utilization of facilities, book colletions, and library service by supporting and developing the librarians’ competence and professionalism as members of BK-PTKI and looking for financial support to help the development of BK-PTKI members’ libraries.
“Forkom Perpustakaan BK-PTKI with members Christian universities annually organizes meeting to discuss issues related to library, librarians, and optimizing the library service. Forkom Perpustakaan BK-PTKI since 2010 has worked with Librarian and Theology Library Indonesia Forum (Forum Pustakawan & Perpustakaan Theologia Indonesia/ForPPTI) whose members are libraries of theology academies in Indonesia. Therefore, the agreement also included ForPPTI, and the network will be broader,” said Esterina M. Jonatan, the treasurer of Forkom Perpustakaan BK-PTKI.
The signing was done in BK-PTKI annual meeting at UPH Campus, Lippo Village, Tangerang. The agreement was signed by rector of Universitas Kristen Indonesia Paulus, Makasar Prof. Dr. Pasolang Pasapan with the Head of BK-PTKI Jonathan L. Parapak. The participants who came from 20 universities witnessed the moment.
Accroding to Esterina, the cooperation was important and beneficial for the members. “Not only the librarians, but also the lecturers and students. They can use collections from libraries who are members of BK-PTKI and ForPPTI. Of course by following the regulations of each library. In addition, the agreement is also important for the university accreditation,” explained Esterina. (rh) |
