Toraja Rock Art 2009 Road to Campus is held to socialize Toraja Rock Art 2009 which will be held on August 11th ? 15th, 2009. This program also held as a campaign in build people?s awareness and care for our environment.

Lippo Village (18/6) ? Karst has many benefits for a society who live among the karst. For instance, society used the karst as water storage for their daily needs. Nowdays, there are so many people exploiting karst for their business material which results environmental damaged and also affect directly to the society.

Toraja is an example of area where the karst ecosystem and a culture meet. It has beautiful scenery and a unique culture which potential to be an object in photography.

That?s a background of Photography Talkshow Program ?Toraja Rock Art 2009, Discovering Indonesian Karst, Road to Campus? which held by National Geographic Indonesia. This program not only held in University of Pelita Harapan, but also held in University of Indonesia, University of Trisakti, University of Parahyangan (Bandung), and Maranatha Christian University (Bandung).

All participants who attended the talkshow program at University of Pelita Harapan on June 18th 2009, was introduced about karst at Toraja from the art, culture, science, and photography point of view. Tantyo Bangun (Editor In Chief National Geographic Indonesia) and Goenadi Haryanto (professional photographer and also lecturer of Journalism Photography at FISIP UPH) are the guest speaker of this talkshow program.

For student who interested in photography feel free to join the competition to have a chance for having journey to Toraja with professional photographers. This competition has already held from June 1st until July 2009. It will be very excited if you have a chance to go to Toraja while getting some photography skill tips from experienced photographers at the same time.
