Lippo Village (4/6) ? Heartline FM radio station invited Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP UPH), Aleksius Jemadu, in the talk show which discusses about Indonesia?s democracy on Thursday (4/6). Jemadu said that ideal political democratization should start from our government institutions.

Jemadu said that Indonesia had not been optimally practicing democracy. ?This is not entirely caused by the society, it is more of the elite government?s mistakes who use democracy as masks. Meanwhile, the society has not yet fully understand what democracy is, when we moved on from the new order,? he said.

Jemadu added that it was important to remind the elites? to not only use democracy as a mask, but rather to give them the right understanding about democracy to the society who tend to generalize democracy with anarchy. One example was the various demonstrations that often occured in our nation.

?We have to differentiate democracy from anarchy. Those acts are definitely anarchy and democracy itself does not support anarchy,? he said.

Therefore, Jemadu hopes that the future government will make use of our democracy better to improve the nation?s welfare so there won?t be any democracy or welfare?s crisis that will impoverish the nation.

Heartline FM Radio Station will furthermore invite other UPH lecturers routinely to discuss the issues that are happening in our society. This time Heartline FM invited Associate Dean and an expert in FISIP-UPH?s International Relations, Aleksius Jemadu, who discussed about Indonesia?s democracy that coincides with the ongoing presidential election campaign in our country.
