Overview

Our Primary Teacher Education Program equips teachers-in-training with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on pedagogy, language, math, social sciences, sciences, arts, physical education, and other various primary school courses, as well as the foundation of Christian theology. Practical teaching and internship program at our partner schools are integrated in the program to give the students a practical teaching experience. The aim is to prepare the students to be competent primary school classroom teachers with a mission for Indonesian cultural context, as well as having transformative and holistic understanding based on the Christian worldview within the framework of the Reformed Theology.

Vision of the Study Program:
To become a Christ-centered Primary Teacher Education Program, which develops transformative and holistic learning based on a biblical Christian worldview as well as to prepare teachers for Primary School level who have true knowledge, faith in Christ, and godly character.

Mission of the Study Program:
To develop reflective, responsive, and responsible Christian teachers in the field of Primary School education with international standards, who are able to teach in the context of Indonesian culture by:
Organizing education in the field of Primary School education that is superior, holistic, and transformative based on biblical Christian insight within the framework of Reformed theology;
Conducting research in the field of Primary School education in an effort to explore the truth to achieve true knowledge, namely the knowledge of God and His self-revelation through the order of His creation;
Conducting community service through contributions in the field of education as an effort to provide an impact on community development for the glory of God.

Objectives of the Study Program:
Referring to the vision and mission of the study program, the objectives of the Primary Teacher Education Program are to prepare prospective teachers to become teachers who have character, calling, and competence or produce graduates who will work as:
A Primary School teacher who has complete knowledge of Christ, His Word, and His design for the world;
A Primary School teacher who has a leadership spirit with a holistic and transformative vision;
A citizen who has a heart that serves Christ, the nation, and others in the field of Primary School education as well as presents excellence in the field of Primary School education based on a biblical Christian worldview.
