Christine L. Sommers, Ph.D., RN, CNE CCRN Emeritus is the Executive Dean of Faculty of Nursing and Chief Academic Officer/Provost. She teaches Emergency and Critical Care, Spiritual Care in Healthcare, and Introduction to Nursing Profession courses. Her areas of interest include nursing education, critical care nursing, cultural diversity in nursing education, and learning environments. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, Master in Nursing from University of Washington in Seattle, Nurse Educator Certificate Program from Washington State University, and PhD in Nursing from University of Kansas in Kansas City. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator.
