ITC
Vision & Mission.
The International Teachers College (ITC) is a ministry of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) and aims to equip future teachers with international-standard content alongside research-based best practices within a distinctively Reformed theological framework. Our goal is to produce students who contribute effectively to the educational development and enterprise in their local countries, to the glory of God and as a blessing to the nations through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What is the ITC?
Christian Foundation & Curriculum
- The goal of the ITC is to equip Christian teachers for service in schools around the world. Our Christ-centered curriculum, excellent professors, and world-class residential learning community work together to develop active and reflective Christian educators who are able to teach and lead from a Biblical perspective in a wide variety of school settings.
Student Life
- Classes, residence halls, recreation, and intramural sports all offer great opportunities to explore your interests and develop meaningful relationships. You will grow close to your new community of friends, based on a common faith and desire to glorify Christ with your minds, hearts, and hands as you pursue your passion to learn to teach Christianly.
A Christian Community
- The ITC is a vibrant Christian community that integrates life, learning, and faith. You?ll discover an engaging learning environment in which we encourage tough questions and strive to answer them through study, prayer, and thoughtful consideration. The ITC is a place where life and learning intersect as you share earnest discussions in class and make lasting relationships with professors who are passionate about helping students develop a Christian worldview.
Programs
What We Offer.
Committed, Faithful Mentors.
Our professors are more than scholars; they are passionate about teaching and sharing their faith in a setting that sharpens the intellect and encourages increased awe of our sovereign God. All faculty members subscribe to UPH Statement of Faith, and you will often find them staying after class or relaxing with students around campus to flesh out class material, discuss the Lord's calling on a student's life, or simply talk and build relationships.
Financial Aid Information.
While the price of tuition, fees, lodging, food, and uniforms for the International Teachers College is only a fraction of the cost of a comparable education in Australia, Canada, or the USA, it is possible that some students may not be able to afford these costs. For this reason, there are two types of financial aid for students.
- Indonesian Students – Indonesian students who are accepted to the ITC are eligible to apply for merit-based scholarships from UPH to cover a portion of the cost of their tuition and fees. Scholarships are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and do not cover the entire cost of the educational expenses. The UPH Admissions Office can provide additional information about scholarships. Just click here for additional information.
____ - All Students – Due to the significant financial commitment of the Pelita Harapan Foundation (YPPH), an ITC University-to-Work?Program is available to qualified students from any country to cover the cost of academic fees, living accommodations and meals, textbooks, and uniforms for those students who are willing to complete a three-year term of paid teaching service after graduation. Participants in the ITC University-to-Work program must complete a separate application and agreement that commits them to a period of three (3) years of reciprocal service at a Christian school assigned by the YPPH following the completion of their ITC degree. The ITC University-to-Work?Program application may be downloaded from here.

Applications for the ITC must be completed by 15 April 2022, but students who apply earlier may be eligible for additional scholarships. Each non-Indonesian citizen student must apply for a student visa called ITAS (Limited Stay Permit). The student visa application must start 2-3 months before your arrival in Indonesia (for students from calling visa countries, the process must start 7 months before arrival). The UPH International Office, working with a third-party visa agent, assists all international students in acquiring the Study Permit and ITAS acquisition process. For more information on the requirements, please visit the?international.uph.edu/services/visa-legal-permits.html.
After your arrival on campus, the ITC will hold your passport in ITC office for safety. If you need to access your passport for business or travel purposes, you may obtain it from ITC office and return it after you have completed your transaction or travel.
There are many intricacies involved with obtaining, maintaining, renewing, and surrendering the student visa and ITAS, as well as with leaving Indonesia for a holiday during the period of study. Please consult with the?UPH International Office?about any questions you may have so that you do not incur any unnecessary costs.
