The Electrical Engineering Department of UPH, as one of the member of 22 universities consortium in European Union (EU) and Asia, within the Erasmus + LEADERS (www.emledaers.eu) project, would held an info session for Erasmus + LEADERS scholarship. This project is funded by the European Union and it provides scholarship for students and lecturers, as well as their mobility from Asia to Europe and vice versa, through student exchanges, lecturers/staffs exchange, post-doc and graduate studies.
?Application for the third year, which was also the last batch for the scholarship, has been opened since October 17, 2016 and the application must be submitted online before December 5, 2016, 2 PM GMT. Once the application is approved, scholarship grantee will depart from July 2017 (according to university?s academic calendar),? explained Dr. Henri Uranus, a lecturer from Electrical Engineering UPH, who would be giving the info session for UPH Electrical Engineering students.
The info session would be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, on 11:30 AM, at the B-547 room, B Building, UPH Campus. This event is open for all students and lecturers.
A Glimpse of the Erasmus+ LEADERS Scholarship:
The Erasmus+ LEADERS Scholarship (previously known as Erasmus Mundus LEADERS) covers for economic class flight tickets, monthly allowance as well as health insurance, which will enable mobility for students and lecturer/staffs, from Asia to Europe and vice versa. This scholarship started on 2014 and will end in 2018 with a total fund of 2.7 million EUR from the European Union (EU). There were several people from UPH who have received this scholarship, they are Endrowednes Kuantama, M.Eng., UPH Electrical Engineering lecturer, who has been undergoing a research-based post graduate in robotic at the University of Oradea, Romania, since 2015 and also Dr. Henri Uranus, UPH Electrical Engineering lecturer who has visited City, University of London on 2016 in order to follow a lecturer exchange for a research in Terahertz Waveguide. Aside from that, Dr. Ian Grout, a lecturer in University of Limerick, Ireland also used the scholarship to visit the Electrical Engineering Department of UPH, for two months this year. During those two months, Dr. Grout got involved in the academic activity in UPH, interacted with the lecturers and students and he also gave a colloquium on Remote Laboratories and 2 workshops in FPGA and Arduino.
Aside from UPH, which belongs to the first group target (partnering university) in this last batch, a limited number of opportunities will be opened for applicants from outside of UPH which belongs to the second groups target (other universities in Indonesia) and the third group (for example, refugee). This scholarship is very competitive, because all applicants from Indonesia will also be competing with applicants from other countries within the same group, such as India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Philippines and North Korea.

This program offers several fields of study, they are: photonics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, information technology, power engineering, but there are also other areas, which are covered by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Post-doc: ? Indonesian Lecturer (both UPH and outside UPH) get involved in a research for one semester (6 months max.) in EU
