Closing the year of 2019 and as an act of love of Christmas, UPH held the Gathering with 333 outsource workers who served UPH. The event occurred with the UPH Chancellor Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., the leaders of General Affairs, and representatives of other departments in attendance. The event was held on 17 December 2019 at the Lippo Village campus.

The Chancellor said, “More than 30,000 alumni have served throughout the world up to the remotest place. This is because they have chosen UPH, not only for its quality education but also because of its clean and beautiful campus. All visitors always praise the beauty of UPH. This is all thanks to you. Representing UPH, I say thank you to all of you. Because of you, UPH is praised. You are all a blessing from God.”

In this gathering event, the Best Outsource Personnel 2019 appreciation certificate was given to seven people, which comprised of two people from PT BPI, two people from PT Security Indonesia, and one each from PT Polaritas, PT ISS, and PT HJL.

The Christmas message was delivered by Pdt. Polo Situmorang – Head of UPH Christmas 2019. He said that each Christmas celebration at UPH has a message for us to remember God’s grace to humans. Through his sacrifice, we can have a sure hope and can work at UPH.

Situmorang explained, “As a part of Christmas, the outsource gathering is aimed to unite instructors and UPH staff with the outsourced workers who have been with us since the beginning of UPH. This activity is a sign of care from the instructors and staff in the form of fundraising given to the workers in the form of parcels and door prizes.”

In addition to the Christmas event for outsourced workers, UPH also did an external Christmas event by giving two Bible with illustrations to ten schools at Papua within the Yayasan Pendidikan Harapan Papua (YPHP). The help is channeled through the Lentera Bagi Bangsa (LBB) program.

The internal and external Christmas event is closing events of 2019 for UPH. On 17 December 2019, there was also a celebration and a Christmas worship for instructors and UPH staff. The events are a sign of thanks to God for His grace. Grace Upon Grace!
