Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) alongside with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Parahyangan and Universitas Brawijaya became five finalists
Lippo Village (15/6) ? Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) alongside with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Parahyangan and Universitas Brawijaya became five finalists of Business and Marketing Competition 2009 (BMCI 2009) held by Asosiasi Aneka Industri Keramik Indonesia (ASAKI). The teams from these five universities surpassed the other 80 teams from at least 12 universities in Indonesia.
Several other universities attended the competition are Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November ? Surabaya (ITS), Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Atmajaya, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, STIE YKPN- Yogyakarta, Universitas Airlangga, and several other universities.
ASAKI held the competition cooperating with Kamar Dagang dan Industri Indonesia (Kadin), regarding the election of ASAKI as the host for World Tile Forum 2010. This competition is aimed to enhance students? creativity in creating and innovating in ceramics business and marketing, in order to support Indonesia?s economic growth.
Every member of the competition was asked to send their creation in papers which had already completed three conditional aspects: recent, inventive and applicable to the industry.
The team from UPH, consists of four Management students of year 2008, Maria Stephanie, Ivana Natalia, Hernando, Lidya Andreani and one Industrial Engineering student of year 2005, Edward Pardomuan, sent a paper that contain the concept of ?Mood Ceramics?. This concept brings out the idea of ceramics which contain liquid crystal that can change colors depending on the air temperature.
This competition has been started since March 18th 2009 and will be ended on July 2nd 2009 in which three winners will be picked. This will coincide the opening of Indo Builtech Exhibition in JHCC-Jakarta. The first winner of the competition will be trusted as the representation from Indonesia in World Tile Manufacturers Forum 2010 in Bali.
