15th Year Conservatory of Music UPH Begins with New Year?s Concert

Starting 2016, the Conservatory of Music enliven the evening of UPH with New year’s Concert on Thursday, January 21, 2016. This New year’s Concert is also part of the Concert Series for a whole event of 15th year Conservatory of Music Anniversary. This event presents an orchestra led by Dr. Paul Vest as a conductor, as well as piano appearance of Dr. Johannes S. Nugroho with the choir UPH Conservatory of Music as the last performance of the concert. 

According to the Head of the Laboratory of Music Assemble Amelia Tionanda, M. Mus., said that this concert event has become a regular event held to accommodate all students in showing their ability together with the lecturers. Amel also hoped that this event can motivate and inspire young musicians and students to continue to explore. Besides that, the public open concerts also act as means to increase people’s appreciation of classical music.  choir UPH Conservatory of Music as the last performance of the concert.

Dr. Paul Vest

Dr. Paul Vest as a conductor at the concert was a lecturer Cello, Music History, Choir and Orchestra at the Conservatory of Music UPH. Paul and his orchestral music team features The Hebrides Overture – Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847), Serenade String Orchestra – Robert Fuchs (1847-1927), and Fantasia in C Minor – Ludwig Beethoven (1770-1827) which brought together with the appearance of the piano performance from Dr. Johannes S. Nugroho and UPH Conservatory of Music choir.

Alfredo, students of Conservatory of Music 2012 who attend these concerts and performances praised the proceedings. “I feel that this concert was incredible and inspired by the neat flow of the show,” said Alfredo. Festive appreciation is also given by the entire audience to the performers who play amazing music and singing.

The event was attended by approximately 100 people who come from diverse population, students, parents, and also Raymond Liu, Ph. D., President of UPH. At the end of the show was held also flowers giving to Raymond Liu, representing the leadership of UPH, also to Dr. Paul vest, Dr. Johannes S. Nugroho, and one of the players in this orchestra, which then ended with a group photo around the performers and the dean of the Faculty of Arts Antonius Priyanto, S.Ag., B.CM., M.Mus.(Mt/mf)
