UPH FoN Conducts a Debate Competition to Increase Awareness of the Current Issues

University of Pelita Harapan Faculty of Nursing (UPH FoN) conducted a lot of competitions for their festival as a part of Nursing Festival 2018. One of it is through a Debate Competition.

University of Pelita Harapan Faculty of Nursing (UPH FoN) conducted a lot of competitions for their festival asa part of Nursing Festival 2018. One of it is through a Debate Competition.

 

 

The theme of the competitions was just the same as their big event, ‘Nurse a Voice to Lead’. ‘Health is a Human Right’ was conducted on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 at 13.00 WIB, on the 8th floor of UPH Faculty of Medicine Campus.

 

 

Sinta Delima Marpaung (FoN 2016) as the committee explained that all of the competitions brought up topics that related to International Council of Nurses (ICN), a federation with more than 130 Nurse National Associations (NNAs) which represents more than 16 million nurses all over the world. She also said that according to ICN, the committee provided the 10 topics which are necessary to be discussed by the future nurses to increase their awareness of the current issues through this debate competition.

 

 

There were 10 topics that had been prepared by the judges, six of them were ; (1) the right for people with mental disorder, problems, and also the right for the patient with mental disorder, (2) social justice for all the people of Indonesia, especially for those who live in a remote areas in Indonesia, (3) national immunization program, (4) access to health service, (5) access to health promotion and health prevention, (6) the right for the patient with the terminal illness.

 

This debate competition was participated by 12 teams from 3 universities; 2 teams from University of Indonesia, 1 team from Universitas Kristen Indonesia (nl/tm)
