Awareness Project, a program of Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) of UPH, ended with a very rousing concert that is a collaboration of all of Art UKM of UPH. This concert aims to show us that art can be a language to make us become more aware of our surroundings. There were 10 UKMs with a total of 137 students involved in this event. Those students performed in the concert on April 12th, 2018, at Grand Chapel, UPH Lippo Village. This concert was attended by more than 500 people.

This concert envelopes the Awareness Project with the theme ?mental disorder awareness?. Fransiskus Asisi Handoyo, Art Program Coordinator of UPH, who directed all of the performances in this concert, said that there is a moral value hidden in the musical and dance concept wrapped in a story sequence.

?This concert consists of 4 seasons; Spring tells us about the happiness in this life. Summer tells us about the conflict we have in life. Autumn describes someone who experiences a lot of depression because of a conflict. Winter is about someone who is able to rise up from depression. All of the songs and dance choreography narrated those 4 seasons. We want the attendants to engage with this concert and accept themselves as who they are, and there is something they should understand: You are the creation of God, perfect exactly as you are, beautiful in your own unique way with all your quirks and foibles. ACCEPT yourself as a form of gratitude, there is nothing you need to change, except for the thought that you need to change, not as an image of other humans but the image of our creator, our God Almighty. All of these messages were delivered by all of the students in those 10 Art UKMs,? Fransiskus explained.

Those 10 UKMs involved in this concert were Lighthouse Singers, Art Band, UPH Choir, Spirit Dance Company, Nusantara Dance Company, Hana Union, Production Troops, Pelita Harapan Photography Club, Movie Production Club, and UPH Make Up Club. The UPH Orchestra Team from Conservatory of Music also collaborated in this concert.

Every single performance, both music or dance, became an illustration of every moment that happens in life.

The aim of this project is not only to trigger individual awareness about mental disorders, but also to develop the awareness to help each other who have those problems. Josephine, a Biotechnology student (2016), president of Awareness Project program, hopes that all of the programs, including the concert, can bring about a significant change. Through this concert, we want to show that art is able to be a language that makes us aware of mental disorders and become more empathetic. We also hope that through this concert, UPH students from Art UKM are able to show their talents and to entertain everyone who attended this concert.
