Student Executive Board of Pelita Harapan University (BEM UPH) held a Blood Donation on 26-28 March 2018 at UPH Lippo Village Campus, Building D 5th floor in room 502 and 503 with the theme of ?There?s Hero Inside You?. This event is regularly held by BEM UPH since the blood donation is considered important, and in fact, 1 blood donation can save 1-3 lives.
Not only that, according to Sylvia, a student of Tourism Management Business 2016 who is also the chairwoman of the Blood Donation event, based on the World Organization Health (WHO) standard, the number of blood bags which is needed in Indonesia still deficit about 1 million blood bags. Based on this fact, BEM UPH continues to hold the Blood Donation event. According to Sylvia, at least the awareness of blood needs can be started from us and the nearest circle, in this case, is UPH itself.
This Blood Donation event is the second and the final Blood Donation event of BEM 2017/2018, previously the first Blood Donation event was held in November 2017 and earned about 430 blood bags. Both the Blood Donation in November 2017 and Blood Donation in 2018 had the same theme of ?There?s Hero Inside You?. The purpose of this theme is to convince the community of UPH that being a ?hero? and help others is not a difficult action; it just starts from ourselves through blood donation, as an easy action and it doesn?t take a long time. |

Not only from PMI, BEM UPH also holds Faculty of Nursing and Faculty of Medicine to help this blood donation by assisting the blood pressure measurement of participants.
Even though this Blood Donation event is the last program of BEM UPH 2017/2018, Sylvia expected that this program will continue to exist. She thinks that this program can increase the awareness of both UPH students and another UPH civitas to be heroes for others in a simple way.(mt) |
