Teacher Seminar “Managing Your School Brand Equity” at Library UPH |
As the form of commitment of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) in supporting education program in Indonesia, UPH provides education program to the teachers in a form of seminar and training. For four days, August 19-22, 2015, during UPH Festival, UPH has held a Teacher Seminar with interesting themes that vary everyday.
On the first day, Teacher Seminar was entitled ?Managing Your School Brand Equity? by Innocentius Bernarto, M.M., M.Si., Lecturer and Head of Marketing Concentration in Business School UPH. In this seminar, Mr. Bernarto explained that a high quality education is really needed, along with the increasing number of the service providers. How can each school survive? One of the most important aspects in marketing is brand. That is why it is very important to manage the brand equity.

School is also a brand that has value in the eyes of consumer and customer, or in education, customers are the parents. But not only one school that wants to persuade the parents to trust their institution as the study place for their children. There must be competitors from other schools. Brand Equity is important to differentiate us from competitors. ?Brand also give an association whenever the brand is mentioned. For the example, what is in parents? mind when UPH is mentioned (imagine your school name mentioned), people must already have point of views about that brand. This is affected by some factors including the service given, or the value we have, and others,? Mr. Bernarto said.

?It is great for the school development, this seminar is also adding knowledge to the teachers. The information given by UPH Is very clear. I suggest that the material is better to be packed in CD to be distributed to teachers.? ? Jayusman, Guru Olahraga, SMA Atisa Dipamkara.

?I think the seminar is good, but the time is not enough so it is lacking of etail. But so far, it is so good. For UPH event, basically we already knew that it would run smoothly. I suggest to add more speakers in one themed session so it can vary.? ? Dini & Christofer, Humas Sekolah Terpadu Pahoa.

?I am so happy to come to the seminar and get an opportunity to visit the exhibition. I am interested in the School of Hospitality and Tourism. Apparently this department exists in UPH.
