The partnership between the Faculty of Medicine, UPH and Biola University, USA, has been strengthened recently by the signing of a new agreement on 27 March, 2015 at the UPH Main Campus, Karawaci.
The partnership between the Faculty of Medicine, UPH and Biola University, USA, has been strengthened recently by the signing of a new agreement on 27 March, 2015 at the UPH Main Campus, Karawaci. The agreement was signed by Dr. Barry Corey, President of Biola University, Dr. Raymond Liu, President of UPH, and Prof. George Matthew, President of Science Group UPH. Other leaders witnessing the MoU signing included Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., Rector of UPH; Connie Rasilim, S.S., B.Ed., M.Pd., Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ainon Manan, Vice President for Finance and Administration; and Budi Legowo, Vice President for External Relations and Business Development.
The framework of the partnership includes a Pre-medical student internship summer program in 2015, as well as a Conference on Christianity and Global Health and a Center for Medicine and Bioethics at UPH.
The 2015 Pre-medical student internship summer program will offer the opportunity to 12 Biola University students, of sophomore to senior status, to gain some comprehensive experience in Global Health issues at UPH.
UPH will also host a Conference on Christianity and Global Health in partnership with Biola University in December 2015. This conference will focus on delving deeply into bioethical responses to global health issues and will help participants reflect their faith in the centrality of Jesus Christ, retain a firm Biblical base and address ethical questions with Christian values.
The Center for Medicine and Bioethics is focused on promoting dialogue, publications, journals, newsletters, etc. centered on different areas in Christian bioethics. The Center will be located in the UPH Faculty of Medicine.
