LBH Mawar Saron Open Opportunities for Training Lawyer Candidates

At Mochar Riady Legal Fair 2014, Lembaga Bantuan Hukum (Organization of Legal Aids) Mawar Saron introduced their law services to UPH students on March 13, 2014. During the presentation, John I.M. Pattiwael, SH., Director of LBH Mawar Sharon Jakarta, said that this organization is the best place to train lawyer candidates because they will get abundant experience here.

LBH Mawar Saron is a law aid organization with a vision, to offer legal aid services to those who do not have the resources to afford it. According to its founder, lawyer Hotma Sitompoel, this organization is established to shape a higher humanity values, thus, the work of this organization is aimed for the purpose of charity program. Since 2005 to date, LBH Mawar Saron has expanded its branch from Jakarta to Jogjakarta, Semarang, and in the future, Solo.

?This organization and also the staff are all funded by salaries only, and all of the necessary budgets come from Mr. Hotma himself. I myself am very moved for the unwavering efforts shown by the workers. They are willing to work overtime even though they will not get any bonus or whatsoever. It is clear as day that the main reason they decide to work in Mawar Saron is not for money,? John explained.

Mawar Saron welcomes UPH Faculty of Law students who are interested to participate in Mawar Saron?s social works and also gain more practical, aside from theory, experiences.

After the presentation from Mawar Saron, several law firms that participated in this Mochtar Riady Legal Fair 2014 also presented their works. Among them were Tiendas Law Office, Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners, Makes & Partners, DNC Law Firm and SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants. The purpose of this event is to impart more insights and to provide information for students who seek internship or career opportunities. (pris)
