Among the graduated 1.151 students in the Universitas Pelita Harapan Commencement Ceremony XXIV on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, Raden Dimas Sufi Abiyasa Gunadiningrat, the second son of DPR member – Nurul Qomar (Komar), is one of the graduates on that day.

 

Representing parents of the graduates, Komar expressed his pride for his son?s graduation from UPH Faculty of Music. ?We purposely choose UPH because UPH is indeed one of private universities that quite represent the contribution for the national education world,? he said after the first session of commencement ceremony finished.

 

As one of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat Republik IndonesiaMPR-RI) representative, Komar also mentioned the expectation of legislatives? for the universities? contribution in the development of Indonesia education. ?I heard, and also at the same time feel proud, that several of UPH graduates choose, by their own consent, to serve the society such as by teaching at Papua,? Komar said. He also added the feelings of love and care from the graduates for their nation is not without motivations from the lecturers. According to him, these actions are the real proof of lecturers? success in shaping the nations? characters. (ym)
