Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) is going to hold a festival to welcome UPH new students on August 21 to August 24, 2013. On Tuesday, August 20, 2013, before joining in the UPH Festival, 21 new foreign students of Academic Year 2013 ? consist of 15 international students and 6 exchange students ? are welcomed by International Community for Students (ICS). This year international students mostly come from South Korea followed by United States and Vietnam. Meanwhile exchange students come from Australia, Holland, German, and South Korea.

According to ICS Secretary ? Jessica Adelia Halim, ICS is a community for the international students where they can meet many new friends who can communicate in English fluently and ICS members are ready to help them to mold in with local cultures. This year, ICS launch a new program called Buddy Program where an ICS member will try their best to facilitate one international student?s needs. Buddy will assist international students to help them adapting to the new environments and learning Indonesia culture. Aside from assisting, buddy will also become new friends for international students that can help them solving problems that might hinder their studying period such as looking for accommodation, restaurant, and others.
