Corban University Will Be More Involved With UPH

Sheldon C. Nord, Ph.D., President of Corban University, previously President of UPH, visited UPH. In this visit, he discussed about further cooperation between Corban University and UPH. ?Corban currently has 18 students from Papua. Next year we will, may be add 13 more students. We would like to continue to have the same program may be in Kalimantan, Toraja, where Corban offers scholarships for students in Indonesia to study in Christian University in America?, Mr. Sheldon said.

He also said that Corban University and UPH would held more student exchange and faculty exchange. ?Last week we have 15 people from our school of business came here and spent 1 week with UPH,, they went to the Indonesia Stock Exchange. A couple of Corban students will come here next year to study at UPH in one semester?, he added.

Student and faculty exchange like this could help American students to learn about Indonesian cultures and opportunities in Indonesia. UPH students also could learn about American culture from the exchange students. Three courses of study which were provided in this exchange were Teacher College, Business, and Psychology.

Not only student exchange, 3 lecturers from Faculty of Business Corban University also had come to UPH and they wanted to come back to teach in UPH and cooperate with UPH Business School to do joint research together.

Besides visiting UPH, Mr. Sheldon also went to US Embassy in Jakarta. ?They gave us ideas of think what Corban could do to be involved in helping people in Indonesia to promote education, because the number one priority right now between the United States and Indonesia is higher education?, Mr. Sheldon explained.
