UPH?s Conservatory of Music is now preparing to hold a music learning program to introduce university level music courses for school of music?s students in Indonesia.
UPH’s Conservatory of Music Teacher, Yosia Revie Pongoh, is teaching percussion to the visiting students
As many as 40 school of music?s students visited Universitas Pelita Harapan?s (UPH) Conservatory of Music. This one day visit was aimed to broaden the possibilities for the students to study music in the university level.
?All this time, schools of music are considered only as side courses, which students will not focus in, when they enter professional world later. University level music schools who can graduate bachelors are still rare,? said Managing Director of Interlude School of Music, Sidhi Olik.
Along with the visit, UPH?s Conservatory of Music Teachers invited the students to play percussions and learn about music therapy. ?It is important for these students to know that music can also be professions,? said Director of UPH?s Faculty of Art, Sachje Siddharta.
UPH?s Conservatory of Music is now preparing to hold a music learning program to introduce university level music courses for school of music?s students in Indonesia.?
This program will be held on school holidays and will be teaching students from music theories, practice of playing percussions, to master classes ? in which students learn basic skills to play piano, guitar, violin, and etc.
?This is a free program from us for the students who are interested. This will hopefully deepen their interest in focusing on music professionally,? said Sachje.
